Horror crash leaves £187k Lamborghini wrecked after smash with Royal Mail van | UK | News

Dramatic pictures have shown the aftermath of a head-on collision involving a Lamborghini sports car and a postal van in east London which left six people needing hospital treatment.

Both the blue high performance vehicle, understood to be worth £187,000, and the van were undoubtedly write-offs after the accident, which occurred yesterday evening, leaving wreckage strewn across the road.

A Metropolitan Police statement said: “Police were called at 19:22hrs on Tuesday, 12 July to reports of a collision involving two cars in Royal Dock Road, Beckton.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

“Six people were taken to hospital where their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.”

There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing, the statement added.

A clip circulating on social media appears to show the moment of impact, prior to which a Lamborghini Urus is seen to overtake several cars.

Separate drone footage also showed the enormous damage caused to both vehicles.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7.23pm yesterday (11 July) to reports of a road traffic collision in Royal Docks Road, Beckton.

“We sent a large number of resources to the scene including six ambulance crews, two paramedics in fast response cars, two incident response officers and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

“We also sent a Command Support Team to the scene and dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated six patients at the scene. We took two of the patients to a major trauma centre and the other four to local hospitals.”

According to Lamborghini’s website, the Urus has a top speed of 190mph (305km/h), and goes from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds.

Recommended retail price range from £185,512 to £213,744.

Meanwhile the starting price for a used model on carwow is £187,000.

Insurance alone is likely to set a Urus owner back upwards of £4,000 a year.
