Households have just hours left to post their cards and gifts to arrive before Christmas

TODAY is the last day to post your first class cards and parcels to be sure they’ll arrive in time for Christmas.

With Christmas just days away, Royal Mail has reminded customers to post early to ensure cards and parcels arrive on time for Christmas.

The more affordable 2nd Class and 2nd Class Signed For deadlines passed earlier this week on Wednesday December 17.

This means that any items sent via these options now are at risk of arriving after the holidays.

For those needing quicker options, Royal Mail Tracked 24 services can still be posted until tomorrow, Sunday December 21.

The premium Special Delivery Guaranteed service offers the latest cutoff on Tuesday December 23 for next-day delivery.

WORK IT OUT

Your rights to extra pay and time back if you work over Christmas and New Year

It’s always ideal to mail off your parcels and cards as early as possible before Christmas to avoid potential delays.

This is because it gets exceptionally busy during this Christmas period.

Speaking on Christmas posting, Postmaster Arif Matadar, says: “Christmas is one of the most joyful times of year in our Post Offices.

“There’s nothing quite like seeing customers come through the door with parcels and cards, ready to spread some festive cheer to their loved ones.

“It really reminds me how much of a community hub we are.

“Don’t forget to write any addresses on your mail clearly to give it the best chance of safely reaching its destination.”

Customers are reminded that they only have hours left before getting any final presents and letters sent first class.

Visit the Royal Mail website for further information from them.
