If there’s one festive tradition we all love to see, its children writing their letters to Father Christmas.
For the little ones it makes the event that little bit more special, and parents come away with a handy list of what they should be looking for in stores.
Each year Royal Mail runs a free service where you can write to Santa and receive a reply from the ‘North Pole’.

The Write to Santa scheme is now open for 2021.
The Royal Mail Letters to Santa site says: “It’s nearly Christmas, and we know you want to make sure that your letter to Santa Claus gets to him.
“We’ve just received the message below from Santa himself – he’s as excited about Christmas as we are. Please remember, as Santa says: get your letter posted by Friday 10 December”.
To use the service, you need to get your little one to write a letter with their full name and address.
Drop the letter into an envelope with a stamp, and send it to Santa’s ‘address’ provided by Royal Mail.
Father Christmas advises children and their parents to:
-
Write Santa’s address carefully on the envelope
-
Put a stamp on the envelope so it gets to Santa
-
Include your full name and address in your letter
Santa will even reply in Welsh if you prefer – although you need to write to a different address for that.
These are the addresses you need:
For an English reply:
Santa/Father Christmas,
Santa’s Grotto,
Reindeerland,
XM4 5HQ
If you are writing in Welsh, send your stamped letter to:
Sion Corn,
Ogof Sion Corn,
Gwlad Y Ceirw,
XM4 5HQ
Santa will begin responding to letters from November 30, with families told to expect a wait of around 10 days.
In order to receive a reply from Santa, letters should be sent no later than Friday, December 10.
