Morrisons customers are in for a treat this winter as the supermarket chain offers free unlimited hot drink refills.
The Winter Refills Allowance is available across all Morrisons cafés nationwide, encompassing self-serve hot drinks such as tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.
To enjoy the perk, patrons need only purchase one hot drink, after which they can refill it at no extra cost, with prices starting from £1.85.
Becky Wilson, Morrisons Café Buyer, commented: “We are always looking for ways to give our customers more reasons to visit our Cafés – and the Winter Refills Allowance does just that. As well as the quality food at affordable prices, our Cafés are a space for communities to connect, work or relax, and they can now do so over a warm mug of their choosing.”
This initiative follows Morrisons’ announcement of its intention to recruit 3,000 additional staff members for various roles during the Christmas season, including customer assistants and home delivery drivers. Offering flexible working hours, the company also promises a 15% staff discount and a further 10% discount for a friend or family member.
Several other retailers have also announced recruitment drives for the festive season.
While these positions are initially temporary, there may be chances for them to become permanent posts.
Morrisons has also announced the opening of its Christmas delivery slots, with Delivery Pass customers getting early access from October 2 and a minimum spend of just £25. Other shoppers can start booking from October 9 for deliveries between December 20 and December 24, reports the Mirror.
Andrew Everson, Head of Online at Morrisons, commented: “At Morrisons, we know how important convenience is during this time of year, so we’re excited to announce that we’re opening our Christmas delivery slots earlier this year. With our Delivery Pass, customers can also find a plan that best fits their needs for the upcoming festivities.”
In addition to gearing up for the festive season, Morrisons has made a significant change to its loyalty app, claiming the new update will be “better” for all involved. The supermarket has transitioned its customers from the old ‘white app’ used for online groceries to a unified ‘green’ Morrisons groceries app.
This move aims to consolidate what was previously “one website and two apps”. The older white app catered to customers in areas where orders were fulfilled by central fulfilment centres, while the newer green app serves those with store-pick orders.
According to Morrisons, the division was “regional” and largely unnoticed by customers.
