How to send a Christmas letter to Santa via the Royal Mail

It’s coming up to the most wonderful time of the year and children will now be writing their Christmas lists for Santa.

But where should you send the lists and will you get a reply?

Here’s everything you need to know about sending a letter to Father Christmas in 2022.

What address do I send a Christmas letter to?

Royal Mail’s designated address for Father Christmas is:

Santa or Father Christmas
Santa’s Grotto
Reindeerland
XM4 5HQ

Make sure to include a stamp on the envelope.

When do I need to send it by?

Letters to Father Christmas must be sent by Friday, December 9.

Schools are being asked to send letters by Friday, December 2.

Will I get a reply?

Those who include a name and address in their letter may get a personalised reply from Father Christmas from November 21.

Due to the volume of letters, not all may get one so there is a downloadable reply on the Royal Mail website.

Will this be affected by postal strike action?

The Communication Workers Union members, who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters, are planning on striking on November 24 and 25.

Royal Mail is doing what it can to keep services running, but this is likely to cause some disruption.
