Want to help your kids get their very own letter from Santa? Here’s everything you need to know.
We’re gearing up for the festive season and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited.
The only thing better than binge-watching Love Actually on repeat is watching the little ones in your life open their presents/letters from Santa.
And, while we’re sure you’ve got the present portion covered, we’re here to help with sending a letter to good old Father Christmas.
So, what do you need to do?
Well, it turns out that just like any other letter, the Post Office is your first port of call — we know right, who knew?
That’s right, the royal mail service is making sure that kids who send their letters off before 9 December get a reply.
You just have to follow some simple instructions, as Santa explains to all the excited kids in the country, via the Royal Mail website: “Dear Children, Are you looking forward to Christmas this year?
“I certainly am! Christmas is a very exciting but busy time for me. The elves are busy making toys.
“The reindeer are practising their sleigh runs And I’m busy preparing my list of who’s been good.
“I will be getting my sleigh ready for the long journey on Christmas Eve. In between, I will try and reply to as many of you as possible.”
And for anyone wondering where exactly that address is, it’s: “Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.”
Santa goes on to remind little ones to “Write Santa’s address carefully on the envelope, put a stamp on the envelope so it gets to Santa, and include your full name and address in your letter.”
Yep, make sure that Santa knows exactly who to send the letter back to, saving for any confusion.
And get ready for a reply within 10 days if your little one sends their letter off early, as Father Christmas explains: “I’ll be replying to your letters from 21 November, but there’s a lot of you to reply to! Please wait up to ten days for my letter to arrive.
“I’m looking forward to delivering your presents on Christmas Eve. Make sure you remember my mince pie and Rudolph’s carrot!”
To be honest, are we too old to write a letter as well because there’s a few bits we’ve got our eyes on this year.
One more can’t hurt, surely?
