Hundreds of Royal Mail temporary Christmas jobs available in London that pay up to £189 a shift

The Royal Mail are currently on a recruitment drive looking for temporary mail sorters to help with the Christmas rush.

They are facing the usual seasonal influx of cards and parcels that come with the festive period, and are willing to pay generous wages to entice people to help out.

They are looking for willing workers across the country to sort stacks of cards, gifts and presents with London being no exception.

The Mount Pleasant mail centre in Farringdon is offering people £13.45 p/h for day shifts and up to £15.75 p/h for working nights.

The Royal Mail elves will be busy this year

The Royal Mail normally hires around 20,000 extra workers nationwide to cover the worker shortfall but as online shopping skyrocketed last year they hired a record 33,000 temporary staff.

This gives a lot of people the opportunity to earn some bonus Christmas cash by working in one of the Royal Mail’s warehouses while doing their bit to assist Father Christmas.

The shift patterns available in the London branch are:

Nights: Monday to Sunday the hours are from 18:00 to 06:00

Lates: Monday to Friday 18:00 – 22:00 and Saturday 14:00 – 22:00

The Royal Mail’s website also has a “Christmas wish list” for who they are looking for:

  • You’re proactive and detail-focused

  • You’re flexible and happy to switch between various tasks during a shift
