Hunt for post box ‘sawn off it’s mount’ during theft in Cotswolds

A hunt is on for a stolen post box that was sawn off from its mount in the Cotswolds.

The theft of the Royal Mail post box took place between 4.45pm on Thursday August 6, and 1pm on Friday August 7, on the B4068 near to Naunton.

Sharing a photo of a similar box, which can be seen at the top of this article, Cotswolds Police tweeted: “A royal mail post box similar to the one below has been stolen near Hampen in the North Cotswolds.

“Police are interested in anyone who saw or heard anything.”

Further information provided by Gloucestershire Constabulary reports that the box was sawn off its mount in the early evening.

Naunton is a village in Gloucestershire. It lies on the River Windrush in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is about six miles to the east.

The Royal Mail have been approached for comment.
