A PREDATOR postman faces jail after hounding four women during his rounds.

Beast Irfan William, 49, forced three of the victims to move home after a seven-year catalogue of stalking and a sex assault within a home.

The postie pestered the women with sleazy comments at their door while delivering around Glasgow’s southside.

Hia antics were reported to Royal Mail twice but he returned to the same round soon afterwards – and it took the final victim to call in cops before he was stopped.

William, from Newton Mearns, near Glasgow, admitted the four charges at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was placed on the sex offenders register.

But it’s feared he could have many more victims from chapping hundreds of doors a day.

Two victims told The Scottish Sun of the toll the perverted attacks had on them.

One said: “It was horrible and incredibly invasive.

“He knows your name, where you live, what you are getting in the post.

“He’s meant to be a guy who innocently comes to your door and leaves. You are answering the door to a postie in your pyjamas.”

Another said: “You shouldn’t have to worry that your postie is a predator.”

The court was told how William pestered one woman after learning she had given evidence in a court case.

He would also knock on her door to make deliveries to attract her attention rather than simply put them through the letterbox.

Creepy William would also go to a cafe in Glasgow’s Govanhill where this victim often spent time.

Prosecutor Jeremy O’Neill said: “He would buy coffee, sit at the table and stare at her.”

The woman eventually stopped going there believing William’s behaviour was “predatory”.

Mr O’Neill went on: “She said that William’s actions were definitely a contributing factor in deciding to move house as that is how much he scared her.”

The court heard how William pounced on another woman at her home in the city’s Battlefield after asking could he come in for a cigarette.

After showing that he had also brought her pizza and juice, William asked personal questions about her sex life and if she was married.

He told her: “You are my distraction.”

William made remarks about the woman’s appearance before grabbing her around the stomach and rubbing her arm.

Fiscal Mr O’Neill said: “She felt frozen with fear…she walked towards the front door.

“William grabbed her shoulders from behind but she continued to walk and broke free from him.

“He opened his arms and embraced the woman with a hug.

“He put his hand on her face and forcefully kissed her cheek.”

A third woman was probed about her relationships.

The postie would also insist on chapping the door claiming it was “difficult to push letters through”.

This spooked victim had to pretend she had a husband – she even got an ex-partner to answer one time to avoid William.

This victim said: “There was something sinister about him from day one, he gave me the creeps.

“I contacted Royal Mail about him in 2015. The first question he ever asked me was ‘how many girls live here’.

“After that he would knock on the door and hand me letters but it would be like a tug-of-war.

“Then he’d be asking how I was doing and did I have any plans for the night.

“I complained while I was picking up a parcel at the sorting office. I stopped getting stuff delivered because of him so I had to go and pick up parcels – I said it was because of that weird postman.

“They assured me it would be taken care of and apologised but couldn’t tell me what happened because it was an internal disciplinary thing.

“For a while, we had a different postman but then he reappeared again – I couldn’t believe it.”

Another victim said she fears William’s predatory attitude to women could mean many more victims in Glasgow’s southside.

She said: “He’s very unsettling. It was very frightening.

“There’s bound to be other women out there who will recognise his picture. He’s arrogant and entitled.

“He showed escalation with me in terms of what he was doing and obviously someone else has been sexually assaulted.”

They added on top of the emotional toll, the monetary cost has been huge too.

Three victims have moved and one victim spent hundreds of pounds on additional security and CCTV.

Sheriff Philip Mackinnon deferred sentencing for reports after William pled guilty to three stalking charges and one sex assault between 2015 and 2022.

He remains on bail meantime.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by the actions of this individual, who was suspended immediately when reports about his conduct were made and later dismissed for gross misconduct.

“We always offer every assistance to police in their investigations to ensure that the tiny minority who abuse their position of trust are prosecuted by the relevant authorities.”
