Iceland distributor confirms ‘small number’ of cornavirus cases

Iceland distributor XPO Logistics has confirmed a small number of coronavirus cases at its Bridgemead distribution centre.

Small outbreaks have also been reported at Honda, Royal Mail’s delivery office in Dorcan and Swindon fire station this week.

A spokesperson for the XPO Logistics said: “Protecting our employees is our number one priority.

“We’re working closely with the local authorities and adhering to all local and Public Health England guidance to ensure the appropriate health and safety measures are in place.”

XPO Logistics would not confirm the number of cases at the Swindon depot.

BBC Radio Wiltshire reported this morning that 15 cases had been confirmed in Swindon businesses.

Honda has confirmed one of these, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said three firemen tested positive and Royal Mail said two staff members had caught the virus.
