I’m A Celebrity: Andy Whyment is the hot favourite to be crowned King Of The Jungle

Bookmakers have predicted that Andy Whyment will win I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2019.

The Coronation Street star is apparently the hot favourite to take the jungle crown on Sunday night’s finale, with Jacqueline Jossa predicted to be the runner-up and Roman Kemp placing third.

Andy, 38, is odds on at 2-7 with bookmaker Coral, Jacqueline, 27, is the 4-1 favourite, and Roman, 26, the outsider at 10-1.

Coral make it odds on, at 8-15, that they finish in that order.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: ‘Andrew became favourite the moment he stepped foot in the jungle and has taken the show by storm.

‘Punters haven’t been able to get enough of him and he’s the hot favourite to win the final, which would provide a Christmas bonus to those who have backed him.

‘If there is to be an upset, it’s more likely to come from Jacqueline than Roman, who is the outsider of the final three.’

The current season of I’m A Celeb will wrap up on Sunday evening, bringing another eventful series to a close.

On Saturday, Kate Garraway was axed, cementing Jacqueline, Andy and Roman as the final three.

ITV bosses are said to be delighted with Kate’s popularity on the show and are set to offer her lucrative roles.

Sources say her once-a-week slot as presenter on Good Morning Britain is to be expanded to other shows across ITV.

One network insider said: ‘Kate has done a cracking job on I’m A Celeb, she has shown who she really is and people love her. There will be some great opportunities coming up for her shortly.’

Viewers heaped praise on Andy as they branded him the ‘terminator’ after he aced the Celebrity Cyclone on Saturday’s show, which was Kate’s final trial of the season.

Jacqueline struggled through the challenge, however – much to the frustration of fans.

The annual trial saw Andy, Jacqueline, Roman and Kate face a barrage of water, wind and inflatables as they made their way up a slippery hill and attempted to secure their stars on their markers.

And while all the stars tried their best, it was Andy who stood out for his legendary efforts, as he began the course by boldly striding up the hill, while booting his obstacles out of the way.

The hilarious scene led fans to brand him the ‘Terminator’ – the time-travelling cyborg made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the hit film series.

Taking to Twitter, many fans were left gushing over the Kirk Sutherland actor, with many comparing him to the character.

‘Andy Whyment storming through the cyclone, whipping his cape behind him & kicking away the big bouncy balls has been the highlight of my year tbh,’ said one person.

While another gushed: ‘ANDY YOU ABSOLUTE LEGEND #ImACeleb ANDY TO WIN!’

But while Andy bossed the trial, EastEnders star Jacqueline struggled to drag her three stars to her allotted marker.

The actress was seen being swept along by a river of water and she was repeatedly hit and bashed around by a plethora of inflatable balls.

At one point she ground to a halt as she struggled to move, with Ant and Dec urging her on as the time ticked down.

Her difficulties in the trial proved very frustrating for some amid fears the celebrities would run out of time and lose the trial for the first time ever.

Yet they managed to succeed and feasted on squab for dinner.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2019 concludes on Sunday night at 9PM on ITV.
