Inside the new homes turning heads in Crediton’s biggest build yet

Town’s biggest development is unveiling designer interiors, local perks and even a rugby-themed room

House hunters have been given their first glimpse inside two newly completed showhomes at a major development underway in Devon.

Bellway South West recently unveiled the Thespian and Goldsmith showhomes at its Libbets Grange development in Crediton, allowing prospective buyers to explore the three-bedroom semi-detached and four-bedroom detached properties.

One of the homes includes a rugby-themed bedroom, nodding to a significant element of the wider scheme—Bellway has allocated a 21-acre plot for the relocation of Crediton Rugby Club.

Rachel Way, senior sales manager for Bellway South West, said: “These showhomes are the first properties to be completed at Libbets Grange and will therefore give potential customers a chance to see the quality and style of our homes at first hand.

“The Thespian and Goldsmith house styles showcase some of the architectural features—such as stone arches and cills—that have been incorporated into the design of the homes at Libbets Grange to ensure that the development reflects the character of existing buildings in Crediton and the surrounding villages.”

She added: “We have a wide range of property styles planned for Libbets Grange, from two-bedroom flats and terraced properties to three-bedroom semi-detached and four-bedroom detached family houses. This diverse mix of homes will enable the development to cater for people at different life stages and with varying requirements.

“In addition to the new homes, Libbets Grange is also bringing other benefits to the local community, including investment in services, the land for Crediton Rugby Club’s relocation and for a new primary school.”

Construction began earlier this year following planning approval granted in November 2024. The first residents are expected to move in from January.

The 257-home scheme, located to the north of Old Tiverton Road, will include 201 properties for private sale—ranging from two to five bedrooms—and 56 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership, from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses.

As part of its planning commitments, Bellway has pledged to invest £2 million into local infrastructure including healthcare, education and transport. The development will also feature children’s play areas, cycleways and wildflower-rich grassland to support local biodiversity.

Prices currently start from £247,000. More details are available at via the sales team on 01363 320053.
