Insolvency Service appoints interim CEO as former boss leaves

Appointments

The Insolvency Service has appointed former COO Alec Pybus as interim CEO after Dean Beale announced his departure earlier this year.

Beale left the agency on 12 May, having been CEO of the Insolvency Service since 2019, to move to the Centre for Public Interest Audit as Executive Director.

Pybus will now step up to interim CEO from COO. Prior to this role, he spent 11 years at Royal Mail, working his way up to become an operations director.

“I’m delighted to have been given this opportunity, and I am looking forward to taking up this role while a new chief executive is recruited,” he said.

“I have been working with Dean over the past few months to ensure this transition is as smooth as possible.”

Beale added: “It has been a privilege to serve as CEO for the past six years.

“The Insolvency Service will be in safe hands with Alec, who has vast experience and knowledge of this complex sector.

“I wish him and everyone at the Insolvency Service the very best for the future.”
