Instabox continues its expansion in the Netherlands

Instabox has entered into an extensive partnership with the supermarket chain PLUS in the Netherlands.

The partnership with PLUS will enable another 550 smart automated parcel lockers to be installed as well as nationwide coverage for Instabox in the Netherlands.

PLUS is one of the frontrunners in the supermarket segment in the Netherlands. With 550 stores around the country, they are big enough to make a difference yet small enough to be flexible and innovative. The first smart automated Instabox locker was placed at PLUS Verhoeven as a pilot project, where other suppliers were also involved. The Instabox parcel locker was much appreciated by PLUS customers as it adds another element of service to the stores.

“With the addition of Instabox, we offer an extra service to our customers, who will soon be able to pick up their packages without having to wait. Our national coverage ensures that this solution is accessible to millions of people. In addition, the more sustainable way of delivering parcels fits very well with the values that we find important”, says Peter van Mourik, Marketing Director at PLUS.

Instabox is a Swedish tech-driven logistics company with the mission to make shipping uncomplicated for consumers in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Instabox has been available in the Netherlands since 2021 and has around 350 lockers available around the country. Through the partnership with PLUS, another 550 lockers will be available for dutch consumers. Already this year, approximately 100 PLUS stores will have an Instabox locker.

“We are very happy to announce our long-term partnership with PLUS. Their ambition to be  “good for the neighborhood” fits well with our strengths, both offering a delightful way of receiving e-commerce parcels and our focus on sustainability”, says David Lundqvist, Chief Commercial Officer at Instabox.

Instabox offers all partners and customers a 100% fossil-free delivery, using electric vehicles and vans fueled with HVO100. Even though Instabox offers both parcel lockers and home deliveries, it is important to keep the environmental aspect in mind; while home deliveries mean 100 stops to make 100 deliveries, Instabox can deliver 100 parcels in one single stop at one of their lockers. This means fewer kilometers driven per parcel, less emission, less traffic congestion, and noise, especially in urban areas.
