Section 230 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 required that each voter in a ballot on strike action should receive his ballot paper at his home address. Trade union encouragement for Post Office workers to intercept ballot papers at their workplace and to vote there immediately constituted interference in the ballot by the union.
The Court of Appeal so stated when dismissing the appeal of the Communication Workers Union against an injunction granted by Mr Justice Swift ([2019] EWHC 3200 (QB)) to restrain the trade union from
