Loose Women’s Charlene White has let slip about a mischievous practice one of her co-stars indulges in during the live broadcasts of the hit ITV show. On Caroline Hirons’ podcast, Glad We Had This Chat, Charlene disclosed that Denise Welch has a habit of passing ‘secret’ notes to her while on air.
She revealed: “Denise [Welch] does a really naughty thing, which I adore her for.”
“We’ll be having a discussion about something or other and she’ll just be writing something on a piece of paper and slip it over to me live on air.”
Charlene confessed that these notes often contain inappropriate gossip, making it hard for her to keep a straight face. She continued: “I might glance down at it and it will be some inappropriate bit of gossip that she really shouldn’t be telling me, and then I’ve got to keep a straight face and I’m like hmmm, and then carry on talking meanwhile I can see her internally absolutely killing herself laughing.”

In addition to this cheeky insight, Charlene also spoke about her journey into chat show television with Caroline, saying: “My entire career has sort of been me sat there going ‘what do I want to do? I want to do this’ and then I’ll figure out a way to do it.”, reports the Mirror.
The ITV news presenter opened up about her path to joining Loose Women, sharing: “I have wanted to do Loose Women for a while, and so, I’d been pushing it for a while, and that pushing finally came off four years ago when I was invited in for a meeting and we had a bit of a chat and they liked what I had to say.”
She expressed her admiration for the show, saying, “I just think it’s one of the most incredible shows I’ve ever worked on.”
Besides her work on Loose Women and as an ITV news anchor, she grabbed the spotlight in November 2022 as the first celebrity to leave the jungle in I’m A Celebrity.
