ITV Royal Variety Performance viewers have all named their star of the show – and it’s not who you’d expect.
The star in question is Chris McCausland, a 44-year-old blind comedian whose topical jokes left viewers in stitches.
Chris took to the stage following performances from stars including Rod Stewart, Josh Widdicombe and The Greatest Showman’s Keala Settle.

His coronavirus-themed gags won some of the biggest laughs of the night from the Royal Albert Hall’s star-studded audience, which included the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Viewers watching the televised charity extravaganza — hosted by Alan Carr — from home took to Twitter to comment.
Jason tweeted: “Chris McCausland – That’s one great comedian! Fantastic #RoyalVarietyPerformance”
Shelley agreed, writing: “And the performance of the night goes to the blind man he was so good!!! #RoyalVarietyPerformance”

Twitter user @andyhodder was also a fan of Chris’ Royal Variety Performance set.
He tweeted: I’ve been a big fan of @chrismccausland since seeing him at @BoatShowComedy. That was a great set at #RoyalVarietyPerformance”

Dave, also posting on Twitter, ranked Chris’ set above those of big-name comedians like Judi Love and Josh Widdicombe.
