Residents in Helston and across Cornwall have voiced frustration about delayed and missing mail, with some waiting weeks for important letters.
Local MP Andrew George has raised the issue with Royal Mail, after highlighting that TR12 and TR13 postcodes are among the country’s worst for failed deliveries.
The story sparked a wave of online comments from people sharing recent experiences, ranging from relief at finally receiving letters to anger about important posts arriving far too late.

Linda Laugher said: “We actually received post in Helston today for the first time in AGES!
“Luckily, what was date-stamped 15th December was a Christmas card and not something more important!”
Others, like Sophie Smith, recounted long waits for vital documents, with Miss Smith saying: “I got a letter the other day from January that was about 6 weeks late”.
Several readers described key appointment letters arriving after their time had passed.
Tracy Downing said: “I’ve missed hospital appointments because the mail has come too late, the bills still manage to get through though”.
Pearl Lewis added: “Must make sure you have your details showing texts and emails so the letter becomes not so crucial”.
However, not all experiences have been negative. Neil Cornwell shared: “I can’t complain about our post from Helston, I think the actual delivery is spot on, and the team always go above and beyond.” Dave Finn agreed, saying that “our postman is brilliant”.

Cheryl Wenn said: “The prices of stamps are extortionate and you don’t even get next day delivery.
Maybe once a month delivery, appalling service”.
A spokesperson for Royal Mail told the Packet: “We are experiencing temporary disruption to deliveries in the area due to higher parcel volumes and short-term resourcing pressures.
“Additional support is being provided to the local operation, and we are working hard to restore normal deliveries as quickly as possible.”
