John Alfred Tinniswood of England, who was recorded as the world’s oldest man, has passed away. He was 112.

According to the BBC on the 26th (local time), Teeniswood’s bereaved family said in a statement that he died the day before at a Southport nursing home, and his last day was “surrounded by music and love.”

The deceased worked for Royal Mail after World War II and later worked as an accountant for Shell and BP before retiring in 1972.

The deceased married in 1942, but died in 1986, and he is survived by a daughter, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In an interview with the BBC during his lifetime, Tinniswood said he was quite active in his youth and took a lot of walks, but said he had no idea why he was blessed with such longevity.

Born on Aug. 26, 1912, the year the Titanic sank, Tinaswood became Britain’s oldest man in 2020.

Then, in April this year, a Venezuelan, the previous oldest man, died at 114, and was recognized as the world’s oldest man by Guinness.

The oldest man ever was a Japanese man who lived 116 years and 54 days, who died in 2013. The world’s oldest woman and oldest person is also Japanese, who is currently 116 years old.
