After an abysmal showing at the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool this week, John Daly decided to cure his sorrows by visiting a Hooters on Merseyside.

Daly, who is sponsored by the restaurant chain, shot back-to-back 77’s at Hoylake – finishing the tournament with a 12-over scorecard.

The two-time major champion decided that he would pay his sponsor’s location in Liverpool a visit, stopping by the chain.

He took a pictures with fans and the wait staff and signed autographs for anyone who asked.

It appears that Daly had changed out of the ‘Hooters’ branded pants he wore while on the grounds and into a pair of jeans.

The 1995 Open Championship winner continued his streak of missed cuts at the tournament he won at St. Andrews.

Daly last made the cut at the 2012 Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes. But he’s played in six tournaments since and hasn’t made it to the weekend.

The last time Daly finished inside the top-30 at the Open was back in 2009 – when he finished tied for 27th at Turnberry.

His first round at Hoylake saw Daly card one birdie and seven bogeys. The following day didn’t prove to be much better – scoring a birdie on the 18th, but put up five bogeys and a double bogey before that.
