Judge rules Md. needs to send food stamps faster (The San Francisco Examiner)

BALTIMORE — A Baltimore judge has ordered Maryland to deliver food stamps sooner to poor families. Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams on Thursday ordered the Department of Human Resources to comply by next year with a law requiring food stamp benefits to be sent within 30 days of request.
