Kate Middleton and Prince William’s PDA proves ‘power couple’ are ‘happily in love’

Since they first started officially dating, Kate Middleton and Prince William have been regularly carrying out royal duties and public appearances. Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended Cop26 and every time they step out, cameras flash and the world pays attention. Express.co.uk spoke to body language expert Judi James about the dynamic between Kate and William, and she explained why they were a “true power couple”.

Kate and William got married in April, 2011.

They have both taken on several patronages, the Duchess has a keen interest in early years support, children’s mental health, sports and the outdoors, and visual arts.

The Duke, on the other hand, is an advocate for the environment, young people, and the Armed forces.

Together, they also represent the Royal Family for a variety of events and occasions.

But what does their body language say about them as a couple?

Judi explained: “It’s their facial expressions as well as their mirroring and their intense and mutual attention rituals with one another that suggest they are also presenting as romantic royals as well.

“Kate’s excited eye expression and her wide, dimpled smile suggests genuine, congruent pleasure at being in her husband’s company.

“His beaming and at times slightly shy smile plus his softened features do suggest he’s very happily in love,” she continued.

Elleatshalford on Instagram said: “How lovely to see genuine love and affection.”

Pdrew23 commented: “It is really lovely to see actual love in the Royal Family.”

In reference to a backstage image of Kate putting her arm around William’s waist, Sharonsisson9.11 said: “I love the third shot! I don’t see the Duke and Duchess. I just see a couple in love.”

Kate and William have three children; Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three.
