Kate Middleton is the UK’s favourite royal to have a drink with – more than King Charles

The first formal birthday celebration for King Charles will take place this weekend at the yearly “Trooping the Colour” ceremony in London on Saturday, June 17.

The high-value, no-fly cruise line Ambassador Cruise Line polled the British public to find out which royals they would most like to have a drink with on His Majesty’s special day before such a momentous occasion.

Kate, Princess of Wales, is the winner of the survey, with 14 percent of British respondents choosing to drink a “tequila” for a few hours with her over all other royals.

The Princess had the highest support from Northern Ireland (22 percent), England’s South West (17 percent), the North West (17 percent), and Wales (17 percent) among women aged 35 to 44.

White wine is reportedly Kate’s favourite beverage, and she is also known to occasionally like a pint of Guinness.

William, Prince of Wales, and Harry, Duke of Sussex came tied in second place, with 12 percent of British respondents saying they would take the chance to drink with one of the two brothers.

This is despite the fact that Harry has lately been primarily absent from the UK. The Duke moved to California in March 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry was more well-liked by women respondents (13 percent), while Prince William was more well-liked by men (15 percent).

The brothers have been known to drink pints of beer together despite their differences, but more recently, William expressed his fondness for vodka cocktails, indicating his palate may be evolving as he becomes older and more aristocratic.

Harry continues to be a well-liked option for a bar companion if a drink is going spare because of his previous reputation as a party animal.

12 percent of respondents said they’d want to have a drink or two with the Duke of Sussex, which was nine percent more people than those who’d prefer to have a drink with Queen Camilla.

While some would have anticipated that the new King would come in first, Mike Tindall, a former rugby player, and His Majesty were both listed in joint third place.

The most senior royal is known to choose a martini as his drink of choice—a refined combination suited for a King.

Eight percent of British citizens would want to share a drink with the rugby star turned royal as well as King Charles III.

Princess Anne, who came in sixth on the list of favourite royal drinking companions, was also joined by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

Shortly behind them with four percent of support was Zara Tindall, the Princess Royal’s daughter, followed by Queen Camilla with three percent.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were at the bottom of the list, with just one percent of the population wanting to share a drink with the York sisters.
