Kate Middleton stopped kids from taking part in ‘blooding’ ritual: book

Kate Middleton has “put her foot down” to stop her and Prince William’s three children from taking part in a royal “blooding” ritual, a new book has revealed.

According to royal author Tom Quinn’s new book, titled “Yes Ma’am — The Secret Life of Royal Servants,” the longtime tradition sees members of the Firm smear blood on their faces after their first kill during fox or stag hunting.

However, the Princess of Wales, 43, was adamant that Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, do not take part in the ancient ritual, Quinn writes.

“Charles’s daughter-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, has put her foot down and insisted there will be no blooding for her children,” Quinn wrote in an extract obtained by the Daily Mail.

The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.

Quinn added that the king had taken part in the tradition, as has William and his estranged brother, Prince Harry.

It’s not the first time Quinn has highlighted the royal family’s desire to move away from the ritual.

In his 2023 book, titled “Gilded Youth,” the author described how William is keen for the family to get with the times when it comes to hunting.

“William loves shooting — a love he shares with his father — but he is also conscious that the tide is now moving against what many people now refer to as blood sports (the royals prefer to refer to them as field sports),” Quinn wrote. “But are they suitable for George, Charlotte and Louis?”

Prince Harry, for his part, previously detailed his own experience with hunting in his protocol-shattering 2023 memoir, “Spare.”

The Duke of Sussex, 40, recalled his hunting guide, Sandy, pressing his face into the belly wound of a stag he shot during a blooding ritual on the grounds of Balmoral Castle in Scotland — a location that has since banned hunting.

“He placed a hand gently behind my neck, and … pushed my head inside the carcass,” Harry wrote. “I tried to pull away, but Sandy pushed me deeper. I was shocked by his insane strength. And by the infernal smell. My breakfast jumped up from my stomach.”

“After a minute I couldn’t smell anything, because I couldn’t breathe. My nose and mouth were full of blood, guts and a deep, upsetting warmth,” he added.

The revelations prompted animal charity PETA to condemn the exiled royal for his graphic descriptions of the ordeal.

However, Harry said he “felt swelling pride” that he had “been good to that stag” by killing it with a single shot so it felt no pain.

He added that it was merely a “show of respect for the slain,” as well as “an act of communion by the slayer.”

“I’d also been good to Nature. Managing their numbers meant saving the deer population as a whole, ensuring they’d have enough food for winter,” he wrote.

“Finally, I’d been good to the community. A big stag in the larder meant plenty of good meat for those living around Balmoral.”
