Kent man knocked out by ‘rival group armed with baseball bats’ after pub argument

A man knocked unconscious on an island off the northern coast of Kent has been raced to a London hospital due to the seriousness of his condition after being reportedly attacked with a baseball bat. Five men have been arrested following the incident on the Isle of Sheppey.

Kent Police officers were called to the junction of Minster Road and Sunnyside Avenue, in Minster-on-Sea, shortly before 11.50pm on Friday (December 20). It followed reports a man in his 20s had been found knocked out after he and two friends had been in a fight with another group of men, who allegedly had baseball bats.

The five arrested man are aged between 18 and 42 and all remain in custody. Kent Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed an earlier argument between the two groups of men inside The Highlander pub in High Street, Minster, at some point between 9.30pm and 11.30pm.
