KEVIN THE POSTMAN: Tributes paid to beloved Radlett postie

Kevin Wells, a retired postman known in Radlett for his colourful wigs and bright smile, sadly passed away on Thursday, October 5.

Kevin retired in March on medical grounds. Since then, hundreds of people from Radlett have taken to social media to share fond memories of Kevin over his 37 years of service to the Royal Mail, with two residents even setting up a GoFundMe to support the beloved postman.

According to Ruth and Amy Schuster, who set up the fundraiser, Kevin will long be remembered for his “fabulous collection of hats and his 30 pairs of bright trainers with matching shirts”.

Another Radlett resident remembers Kevin as “a wonderful character and a true local celebrity, bringing a sunshine smile to everyone, whatever the weather”.

Kevin’s family have stated that the wider community’s messages of love and support have “touched our hearts”.

Kevin’s funeral was held at the Garston Crematorium on Tuesday, October 17.
