King Charles forced to take action as Eugenie and Beatrice ‘in denial’

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are ‘particularly vulnerable’

King Charles has been forced to make changes with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie ‘grappling’ with the fallout of their father’s arrest. The monarch is said to have a positive relationship with the sisters, and has been determined to keep them ‘wholly unaffected’ after Andrew was stripped of his titles.

After more claims about the royal sisters emerged, royal sources claim Charles had ‘no choice’ but to take action. The King had hoped to protect his nieces after their father and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson were implicated in the Epstein files, reports The Mirror.

However, it was reported by the Daily Mail last year that the princesses declined Charles’ offer of help from one of his senior advisers to ensure that their reputations were not tainted by the sins of their parents, with the move allegedly deeply frustrating the King.

And now, calls have increased for Beatrice and Eugenie to speak openly about what they knew about their parents’ association with Epstein. Both of Andrew and Fergie’s daughters were named in the Epstein files, and while the inclusion of their names doesn’t indicate any wrongdoing, many have wondered about how much they know.

Given the growing calls for the royal sisters to take accountability, a royal source told the Daily Mail that King Charles has had no choice but to distance himself from his nieces in order to protect the reputation of the Royal Family.

The insider said: “Beatrice and Eugenie are particularly vulnerable at the moment. As they are dragged further into the Epstein web, the King is shifting his stance on the girls’ future. Although they aren’t implicated in any of Epstein’s wrongdoings, their own association with him threatens to tarnish the reputation of the throne.”

The source added that the news of Charles’ distance, coupled with the continued turmoil from Andrew’s arrest and new releases of the Epstein files, has caused the princesses to be in a state of despair, as they wrestle with their own families, careers and their public royal image.

“Both girls are very highly strung and emotional, like their mother,” says the royal source. “Beatrice is trying to come to terms with it matter-of-factly although can’t help bursting into tears regularly – not for her father but for the implosion of her own world and, especially, the family’s cold shoulder. Her royal status means more to her than Eugenie.”

Meanwhile, the insider added that Eugenie “has apparently gone into denial – fingers in the ears, head in the sand, hoping it will all go away.” Royal author Andrew Lownie, who spent years investigating the Yorks for his biography Entitled, said the matter of Beatrice and Eugenie’s finances have raised ‘serious questions’ for both princesses.

It has recently been alleged by the Daily Mail that both sisters received payments from David Rowland, a controversial billionaire friend of their father. Sources close to the princesses said they had no recollection of the alleged payments from Rowland.

Andrew Lownie said of the alleged payments: “It’s time for the princesses and their father to come clean.” However, royal biographer Ingrid Seward disagrees, as she told the Mail: “Speaking out could make things worse for them. I’ve no doubt they’ve been advised to lie low and keep out of the way.”

“The King was always very fond of his nieces but at the moment it won’t look good for the monarchy to be supporting them in public.” Speaking to the Mail, the royal source added that signs that the sisters are being kept at an arm’s length by the Firm “’suggest that things aren’t going their way”.
