Prince Andrew has reportedly been feeling “chipper” after the White House announced Jeffrey Epstein did not keep a list of clients, but he has also received a “reminder” from King Charles
Prince Andrew has been given a “reminder” by King Charles that his position in the Royal Family remains unchanged despite recent “events”, an expert has claimed. The Duke of York has reportedly been feeling “chipper”, according to the Daily Mail, following the White House’s announcement that the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein did not maintain a list of clients.
Epstein, who was a convicted sex offender, passed away in his New York prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking, to which he had pleaded not guilty.
In 2024, a New York court was due to disclose a list of individuals allegedly linked to the financier, but earlier this month, the US Department of Justice and FBI concluded that Epstein did not possess such a list.

The US authorities also confirmed that Epstein took his own life, refuting conspiracy theories suggesting otherwise. Meanwhile, Andrew, who is said to have been friends with Epstein, is reportedly experiencing renewed “anxiety”.
A “mole” speaking to the Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle reported that Andrew had been “feeling chipper” after the news and the conclusion of the FBI’s investigations, but US President Donald Trump may have introduced a new twist.
He writes: “As the king returns to Scotland for his summer break, my mole reports Prince Andrew is still on the guest list for a Balmoral holiday.
“But, with Trump’s second thoughts about releasing documents, Andrew’s anxiety continues. It hasn’t helped that he has received a reminder from the King that events don’t allow him to return to royal duty. Is there no redemption for the disgraced duke?”
In August 2024, it was reported that Andrew had become somewhat of a recluse amid the highly publicised dispute with the King over the tenancy of Royal Lodge.
However, this isn’t the only controversy surrounding the troubled Duke, who withdrew from Royal duties in 2019 after his infamous BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.
In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II removed Andrew’s military titles and Royal patronages; he stopped using the HRH title, and his roles, such as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, were reassigned within the family.
Andrew was back in the news in 2024 due to an investigation involving an alleged Chinese spy known as ‘H6’, who reportedly gained an “unusual degree of trust” with him, according to UK officials.
H6 was Yang Tengbo, a 50-year-old businessman who requested that his anonymity be dismissed and claimed that the accusations of espionage were “entirely untrue”. Andrew said that he had “ceased all contact” with Mr Yang, with his office claiming there was “nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed”.
Chris Patten, the last governor of Hong Kong before its handover to China, has hinted that Andrew might have been caught up in the schemes of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operatives.
In a conversation with the Mail, he remarked: “He is a hapless victim of United Front (Chinese Communist Party operatives) activity in this country.”
He further commented: “I don’t think Andrew has large numbers of state secrets.”
