King Charles’s ‘unique’ Christmas Speech could see new tradition to ‘avoid scrutiny’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

“I think it was an acute choice of being in the church.

“I don’t think we’ll see it again next year, but it may be that we’re beginning to see a new type of monarch speech where they’re no longer in their own properties.”

King Charles went on to discuss his and the late Queen’s “belief in the extraordinary ability of each person to touch, with goodness and compassion, the lives of others, and to shine a light in the world around them.”

He added: “We see it in the selfless dedication of our Armed Forces and Emergency Services who work tirelessly to keep us all safe.

“We see it in our health and social care professionals, our teachers and indeed all those working in public service, whose skill and commitment are at the heart of our communities.”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
