La Posta Publications to publish second book in American postal history series

By Linn’s Staff

A Jan. 5 press release from La Posta Publications announced that Aspects of American Social Postal History, the second in a series of books promoting different areas of American postal history, will be available in March.

La Posta columnist Jesse Spector is credited with the 136-page hardbound 8½-inch by 11-inch book, which covers five periods of American history with 15 articles on the topic of social postal history, a study of how the use of stamps and covers connects with the included letters and what they conveyed.

This format of the 2026 book follows that of the 2017 Aspects of American Postal History, which includes 16 articles on 16 different postal history subjects, all written by different authors.

The book is available for $50 plus $5 for shipping. Checks can be made payable to La Posta Publications and mailed to La Posta Publications, POB 6074, Fredericksburg, VA 22403.

Orders postmarked by Jan. 31 receive a 20 percent discount of $45 plus $5 for shipping. Dealer inquiries are invited.

A limited number of copies of the 2017 Aspects of American Postal History are available for $65 postpaid. The two books can be combined for a prepublication price of $95 postpaid.

La Posta Publications also publishes La Posta: The Journal of American Postal History, the leading journal devoted to American postal history. It is published four times a year, and annual subscriptions are $38.
