The owner of a power station near Plymouth has become a significant investor in a Premier League football club.
Daniel Kretinsky, 46, investor and owner of of Langage Power Station near Plymouth, now owns 27 per cent of football giants West Ham.
This makes Kretinsky the second-largest shareholder of the London-based team who are currently third in the Premier League.

The investor joined the board with business partner Pavel Horsky, as well as David Sullivan, David Gold and Karren Brady.
Originally hailing from the Czech republic, Kretinsky is worth an estimated £3 billion and is the majority shareholder of Royal Mail, second most in Sainsbury’s – and owns four power plants.
The plants are in North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Lincolnshire and, closer to home, Langage in Devon.
As well as his business portfolio, Kretinsky is also known for taking a well-known Olympian from his home country.
Anna Kellnerova, a show jumper, is 24 and is the daughter of Kretinsky’s late former business Partner Petr Kellner, the richest man in the Czech Republic who died earlier this year in a helicopter crash.
