Last posting day for Christmas is now MONDAY

Strike action announced by members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) has resulted in impending disruption to Royal Mail services

Royal Mail’s last posting day for 2nd Class, 2nd Class Signed For and Royal Mail 48 deliveries will be Monday, the group has announced.

Strike action announced by members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) has resulted in impending disruption to Royal Mail services.

The company has warned that items posted in the days leading up to strike days, strike days themselves and days after strikes will be subject to delays.

Members of the public now face a rush if they want to post items to friends and family in the lead up to Christmas.

In a statement, the Royal Mail said: “We’ve brought forward our Christmas last posting dates to help manage the impact of planned strike action by the CWU.

“We recommend you post as early as possible using the appropriate product to ensure your items reach their destination in time for Christmas.”

UK inland services are among those affected by strikes, with the latest posting dates for Christmas 2022 announced.

The Royal Mail has warned that the dates given for final Christmas delivery dates are subject to change.

Wednesday 7 December marks the final day people can post Royal Mail Bulk Mail Economy with the expectancy of having their items delivered for Christmas.

People hoping to post their mail via 2nd Class, 2nd Class Signed For and Royal Mail 48 deliveries will have to arrange this before Monday 12 December.

1st Class, 1st Class Signed For, Royal Mail 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48 services can be posted up to Friday 16 December.

Royal Mail Tracked 24 deliveries have been given a final date of Monday 19 December.

Wednesday 21 December marks the final day Special Delivery Guaranteed deliveries can be posted in order to make Christmas.

The Royal Mail have stated that the posting dates are subject to change.

A series of strikes will be carried out by the company on the following days:

– Friday 9th December

– Sunday 11th December

– Wednesday 14th December

– Thursday 15th December

– Friday 23rd December

– Saturday 24th December
