Latest deal means Mountpark Warrington Omega phase one is now fully let

Mountpark Logistics has leased a 184,537 sq ft distribution centre at Mountpark Warrington Omega to intralogistics provider Jungheinrich.

The industrial and logistics property developer has now completed more than one million sq ft of lettings at its Warrington Omega scheme, and the first phase is fully let.

One of the top three leading intralogistics providers in the UK, Jungheinrich is planning to use the new unit to bring together its four existing facilities in the North West, including the regional sales and service centre.

Alexander Baal, director sales operations at Jungheinrich UK, said: “The UK is an important growth market for us and the move to Mountpark Warrington Omega is central to our business strategy.

“By bringing our North West operations together into one facility we will increase efficiency, while the quality of the building reflects our ambition to be the number one choice in intralogistics worldwide.”

Mountpark Warrington Omega is part of the 575-acre mixed-use Omega scheme at Junction eight of the M62 north of Warrington, midway between Liverpool and Manchester.

Existing customers include Royal Mail, The Delivery Group and Gousto. Other occupiers at Omega include Brakes, Hermes, Travis Perkins, ASDA, The Hut Group, Dominos and Amazon.

Tom Kilmister, development director, Mountpark UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted that we were able to offer Jungheinrich a facility that meets its requirements and we look forward to welcoming the team.

“With this transaction the first phase of Mountpark Warrington Omega is fully let. The deal also marks a major milestone, taking the total lettings at the development to over one million sq ft, confirming Mountpark Warrington Omega as one of North West’s premier logistics locations.”

Mountpark is currently on site with Mountpark Warrington Omega II.

Construction started earlier this year and the first two units of 307,807 sq ft and 203,180 sq ft are on schedule to complete in January 2021.

The third unit, totalling 225,312 sq ft, is programmed to complete in Summer 2021.
