Leona Lewis dazzles in a purple tulle off-the-shoulder gown as she takes to the stage at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance

Leona Lewis was honoured with singing at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall in London on Saturday evening.

The songstress, 34, dazzled on the night in a glitzy purple tulle gown as she took to the stage to perform a selection of tracks to a crowd of servicemen and veterans.

This year’s event marks 75 years since notable battles of 1944, which included Monte Cassino, Kohima and Imphal, D-Day and the collaboration of Commonwealth and Allied forces.

Dazzling: Leona Lewis was honoured with singing at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall in London on Saturday evening

Leona’s stunning floor-length dress featured a pretty off-the-shoulder neckline and a form-fitting top half, before flowing into a dramatic jewel encrusted skirt.

The dress was heavily embellished across her midriff, as she decided to keep the attention on the gown by forgoing any accessories.

However Leona did choose to show her support for the Poppy Appeal by wearing the small red flower pinned to her dress.

Leona wore her curly locks in a loose natural style, while highlighting her pretty features in soft touches of make-up in a shimmering bronze pallet.

Leona, who released her last single in 2015, is working hard back in the recording studio following her wedding to Dennis in the summer.

The couple exchanged vows in Tuscany at Sting and Trudie Styler’s lavish 16th-century vineyard and estate, Il Palagio, on July 27 in front of 180 friends and family members.

Other entertainment for the evening included actor Jeff Goldblum performing on the piano, ahead of his upcoming jazz pianist album release.

The ceremony is hosted by the Royal British Legion and commemorates all those who lost their lives in conflicts, with other artists including James Blunt performing alongside the Central Band of the Royal Air Force and Band of HM Royal Marines.

It also celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Government Communications Headquarters and pay tribute to RFA Mounts Bay which delivered supplies and aid to the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian this year.
