Lewis Hamilton Dismisses Ferrari Exit Rumors, Confirms Long-Term Deal Amid Struggles to Find Form

Lewis Hamilton has moved to silence growing rumors about his future with Ferrari, confirming that his contract with the Italian team extends beyond 2026. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion addressed the speculation ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix, making it clear he has no plans to leave the team early despite a challenging start to his Ferrari tenure.

Hamilton joined Ferrari for the 2025 season on a multi-year agreement, marking one of the most high-profile moves in modern Formula 1. The switch followed more than a decade of dominance with Mercedes, but his time in red has yet to yield the same success. So far, his best results have been fourth-place finishes in several rounds, including the Emilia Romagna, Austrian, British, and United States Grands Prix. His lone victory came in a sprint race in China earlier in the year.

Speculation over Hamilton’s future intensified after Haas rookie Oliver Bearman impressed with a surprise fourth-place finish at the Mexico Grand Prix. The 20-year-old’s strong performance fueled talk that Ferrari could consider a younger driver lineup for 2027. Hamilton, however, dismissed the claims, saying that contract discussions typically occur only in the final year of a deal.

Despite his slow start, Hamilton remains optimistic about Ferrari’s progress heading into the final stretch of the season. He praised the team’s recent improvements and highlighted the momentum gained from teammate Charles Leclerc’s strong results.

The São Paulo Grand Prix marks another key test, featuring one of the year’s final sprint weekends. With limited practice before qualifying, Hamilton and Ferrari will aim to translate their incremental gains into a full race podium—a milestone that has so far eluded their partnership but remains firmly in their sights.
