An expert lipreader has debunked claims unearthed footage of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Charles showed a rift started at a royal garden party, after royal fans claimed unearthed footage showed ‘drama with The Firm.’
Lady Colin Campbell claims in her new book that the Duchess of Sussex’s rift with other members of The Firm occurred after she told Prince Harry she was ‘bored’ at the garden party hosted for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday and asked if they could leave after 15 minutes.
Earlier today, social media users uncovered the moment that Prince Harry is pulled away by Prince Charles to speak, before he and Meghan say their goodbyes and rush from the event, which took place days after the royal wedding.
Sharing the clip online, Twitter user @Murky_Meg commented: ‘Here is the video where Charles seems to tell Harry it’s time to leave.’
However, analysing the footage, MailOnline’s lip reading expert explained that there ‘definitely wasn’t any angst’ in the words exchanged between the parties and that it the couples assured one another they would ‘catch up’ afterwards.
Video has emerged online of the moment Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, rush to leave a garden party at Buckingham Palace moments after speaking to Prince Charles
After a brief conversation with the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be seen walking away from the party and toward the palace
The garden party saw more than 6,000 people, all from the charities and military associations most closely linked with Prince Charles, descend on the grounds of Buckingham Palace for music, speeches.
In the video, which was taken at Meghan’s first royal event after joining the family,. the Duke and Duchess could be seen chatting with guests at the garden party at Buckingham Palace.
One guest could be seen handing a gift to Meghan, who appeared obliging and could be heard thanking her for the present.
The Duke and Duchess can be seen smiling, and appear happy, before a man who appears to be part of the palace’s staff approaches the duo.
In the clip, the duo appeared relaxed and engaged as they spoke with a group of attendees in the gardens of the palace
The gentleman tells Prince Harry: ‘You have been called for’, before gesturing over to Prince Charles who moves over and Harry moves towards him.
Harry then steps to one side while his father says something quietly into his ear, placing a hand on his arm.
According to a lipreader, Prince Charles explained: ‘We are going now, We have to leave….’
Harry nods and gestures ahead of him before patting his father on the back, saying: ‘You go ahead,’ and returning to Meghan.

Social media users were stunned by the video, with some saying it appeared as though Prince Charles was excusing the couple from the event.
After a brief inaudible conversation with Prince Charles, Meghan and Harry bid farewell to him and Camilla before leaving the party
One user commented: ‘And #themarkles were asked to leave 40 min in because of Meghan’s behaviour? They were escorted out along with their entourage. M was not happy!’
Another added:’Can anyone lip read what Harry said to Charles , he didn’t look happy.’
A third commented: ‘Looks like Charles tells Harry to leave, Charles doesn’t say goodbye to Meghan.’
However, an expert lipreader told FEMAIL that the exchange between the couples was actually ‘polite’ and ‘there wasn’t any evidence of angst’ between them.
The video emerged ahead of the release of Lady C’s new book, Meghan and Harry: The Real Story, in which she documents the fall-out from the event.
The garden party at Buckingham Palace took place days after Meghan and Prince Harry wed in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle
She writes: ‘They plunged in, glad-handing those who had been selected for introductions. She charmed everyone.
‘Fifteen minutes into the event, she turned to Harry and said, ‘Harry, this is really boring. Let’s leave.”
‘To his credit, he informed her they would have to stay. ‘But Harry, this is so boring. We’ve done our bit. Everyone knows we’ve been here. Let’s go.”
Lady C claims that Prince Harry insisted that they stay, but adds that the event caused a store in aristocratic circles and that ‘Meghan’s desire to bolt’ was the ‘main topic of conversation’ after the event.
Less than two years after attending her first royal event, Meghan joined Prince Harry at the Commonwealth Service for their final official royal duty
Lady C previously told the Daily Star that the first ‘warning’ something wasn’t quite right came at the garden party in question.
According to Lady Campbell, the event was marked by Meghan who did something that ‘astonished’ an attendee with ‘impeccable palace connections’ .
She said: ‘We were all absolutely gobsmacked and astonished, we all thought this doesn’t bode well.’
Life has drastically changed for Prince Harry and Meghan since attending the event in May just two years ago.
The Duke and Duchess are currently living in Los Angeles, having stepped back from life in the royal family
The couple went on to speak about the challenges of life in the royal family and their struggles with the media spotlight in an explosive ITV documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey last November.
And in January this year, the Duke and Duchess shocked the world by announcing their plans to step back from royal life and work to be ‘financially independent.’
Following Megxit, it was announced that Harry and Meghan will no longer use their HRH titles and will repay around £2.4 million of taxpayers’ money spent refurbishing their Frogmore Cottage.
At a charity event for his charity Sentabale, Harry spoke of his ‘great sadness’ at leaving the Royal Family and said he and his wife had ‘no other option’ than to quit senior royal duties – but vowed the couple are ‘not just walking away’.

Meanwhile at the time, a friend of the duchess told DailyMail.com that Meghan had informed close friends quitting the royal family is the best thing that could ever happen to Prince Harry and said ‘it was her love for him that made this possible’.
‘She said that like her, his spirit was being crushed and she simply couldn’t stand to see him suffer anymore,’ the friend added.
