Local woman, 75, named as Diss postal lorry crash victim | Diss and Harleston News

A woman who died in a collision involving a postal lorry in the centre of Diss has been named.

Maureen Self, 75, died after the accident with a Royal Mail delivery lorry at the junction of Victoria Road and Mere Street on Tuesday, July 16.

An inquest into her death will be opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Tuesday, July 30.

The death of the local woman at the busy junction saw floral tributes expressing sympathy and condolence laid at the scene of the accident.

People from nearby businesses and passers-by had tried to help as she was treated by paramedics in the aftermath of the collision but she died at the scene.

Roads policing officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, the manner of the driving of the vehicle prior to it or from anyone who may have captured the incident on dash-cam.
