A lorry overturned on the M40 in the early hours of the morning, closing the motorway and causing delays.
The HGV crashed onto its side, blocking all four lanes on the motorway between junction 1a for the M25 and 1 for Denham Roundabout, at around 3.30am.
Fortunately, the driver escaped with only minor injuries, but the incident has caused delays this morning.
Recovery work has been ongoing this morning and there are still some delays in the area, with a diversion in place.
Diversion route:
- Follow the hollow triangle diversion symbol on road signs
- Take the M25 clockwise to J17
- Exit the M25 at J17 and take the third exit at the roundabout and join the A405 southbound
- At the Maple Cross Roundabout, turn right to join the A412
- Continue along the A412 and re-join the M40 at J1
