The long Easter weekend is almost upon us and most of us are looking forward to a four-day break away from work when weather forecasters are promising some warm, fine weather at last.
Don’t forget thought that postal services will be affected by the double bank holiday, so if you’re expecting any important mail or planning to send anything that is time sensitive, you need to take this into account.
Royal Mail says: “We deliver and collect your mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays. However, we don’t usually deliver or collect on bank and public holidays.”

Subsequently, there will be no postal deliveries or collections on Good Friday, April 15, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday, April 17 and 18. There will however be normal Saturday collections and deliveries on April 16.
Most Post Offices close their doors over bank holidays, however select local branches – including those inside corner shops and convenience stores – will be open at selective times over the Easter weekend.
If you plan on heading to a local branch, make sure you check your its operating hours before setting off to avoid disappointment, via the Royal Mail’s branch finder.
