Mail Solutions has appointed Patrick Headley as board advisor to the group.
Headley spent 30 years at Midlands marketing communication specialist Go Inspire Group. He was CEO when the business was acquired by Xerox in 2022, and stepped back from Go Inspire the following year.
Since then Headley has worked as a non-exec in the industry and also established his own consultancy, Patrick Headley Performance Coaching.
Mail Solutions praised his wide-ranging experiences including in acquisitions, management buy-outs, and strategic expansion.
In his advisory capacity, Headley will work closely with the board and senior leadership team at the Telford-headquartered business “to support strategic direction, commercial development and long-term value creation”.
Headley commented: “Mail Solutions has strong foundations, an ambitious leadership team and a clear opportunity to accelerate growth. I am looking forward to working with the board to help shape the next phase of its journey.”
He told Printweek: “It’s a lovely company and the people there are among the nicest I’ve ever met. The things they can do with the systems and technology they have are very impressive. It’s an incredible business.”
Mail Solutions offers a range of envelope products including branded envelopes for direct mail campaigns, envelopes with printed digital stamps, and bespoke envelope designs.
It also produces direct mail base stock, leaflets and flyers, secure tickets and vouchers, seed packets, vinyl record sleeves, and paper straws via its Intrinsic Paper Straws wing.
The firm acquired the Kalamazoo Security Print business from Adare SEC in October 2023.
Mail Solutions has sites in Telford, Corby and Redditch. The group had sales of nearly £29.4m in its most recent financial year, to 31 March 2025.
The Mail Solutions leadership team issued a joint statement, and said: “Patrick’s depth of experience and proven track record in scaling businesses and driving performance make him a valuable addition to our team.
“We are excited to benefit from his insight and strategic perspective.”
Mail Solutions was formed 26 years ago when Mech-Mail Envelopes and Britannia Envelopes merged to form a new business. It was subsequently acquired by an MBO team in 2004.
