Major main road in Manchester closed off after crash

A main road in Manchester has been shut off this morning after a crash.

Oldham Road in Miles Platting is currently closed off on the eastbound carriageway. The closure is in place at the junction with Queens Road.

A picture posted by TfGM appears to show an ambulance at the scene this morning. It has not yet been confirmed whether anyone is injured.

Traffic is being diverted away from the scene. There are also some bus diversions in place.

A tweet posted by TfGM said: “A62 Oldham Road, Miles Platting. Road is closed traveling eastbound at the junction with Queens Road due to a road traffic collision.

“Follow @FirstManchester for bus diversion info.”

Traffic alert service Inrix reported: “A62 Oldham Road Eastbound closed due to accident from Collyhurst Street to A6010 Queens Road.”

A tweet posted by First said: “SERVICE UPDATE – 83/84/181/182. Due to a road traffic accident, services will be diverting at Queens Rd following this route: Left Livesy St – Royal Mail – Rochdale Rd – Queens Rd – Oldham Rd.

“We do apologise for any impact this may have on your journey with us this morning.”
