Man gets 30-year term in post office robbery (The Kansas City Star)

A $1,700 post office robbery has landed a Kansas City man in federal prison for 30 years. Robert E. Newsome Jr. was sentenced Wednesday at the federal courthouse in Kansas City where a jury in January found him guilty in the May 2007 armed robbery of the post office at 8800 Raytown Road. Newsome, 35, was also found guilty of using a firearm during a crime of violence.
