A Talbot Green man has been jailed after the Royal Mail discovered hundreds of ecstasy tablets in the post.

Damien Drab, 29, was arrested after a parcel containing 208 ecstasy tablets sent from the Netherlands was intercepted by the UK Border Agency.

After searching his home, police also found cash, cocaine, a quantity of the mixing agent, Benzocaine, and digital scales.

Officers also seized his phone and after forensic examination found evidence of class A drug supply.

Drab, of Talbot Road, plead guilty to offering to supply cocaine and MDMA, as well as importing MDMA.

He was jailed for 52 months at Merthyr Crown Court on November 3, 2020.

South Wales Police Detective Sergeant Lia Jones said: “The parcel was intercepted by Royal Mail and examined as it arrived in the UK – we were notified by UK Border Agency and he was arrested soon after.

“Clearly, he was surprised to see us at his door instead of his parcel, and what we found behind the door was evidence of significant drug supply.

“He is now paying for the choices he made and is spend a considerable time behind bars. We will also explore every opportunity under the Proceeds of Crime Act to ensure he cannot benefit from any ill-gotten gains.”
