Man seriously injured after being punched and kicked in the face in Salisbury

A man was seriously assaulted following an argument in Salisbury last week.

Police were called to the incident outside the Royal Mail depot in Fisherton Street at around 5.20pm last Monday (21 September).

Two men were seen having an argument before the victim was allegedly pushed to the floor and was punched and kicked to the face, leaving him with a broken nose and a fractured eye socket and cheek bone which he was treated for at Salisbury District Hospital.

Officers investigating the assault have released a photograph of a man they would like to identify in connection with this incident.

PC Jim Brown said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this particularly violent attack in broad daylight.

“The victim suffered significant injuries and this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We are looking for any information on the man pictured or for any witnesses to the incident to come forward, especially if they have dash cam footage or video on their mobile phone that could shed light on what happened.

“We’d urge anybody with any information to call 101 quoting crime reference number 54200095209.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report anonymously.”
