Man who died in Limavady RTC named locally – Causeway Coast News

A man who died following an RTC on the Glenhead Road in Limavady yesterday afternoon has been named locally as Micky O’Doherty.

Tributes have been pouring in on social media throughout the night and this morning.   In a Facebook post his fiancée Lynn Campbell said:

“Today I lost my Fiancé & Soul mate…. my sweetheart. Geraldine & Micky lost their son and Lana & Keith lost their Brother….. Kelly & Thomas lost their Daddy.

My Micky – I love u until the end of time”

Another said “RIP Micky O’Doherty, many a laugh we had in the Gorteen. Thinking of your family at this sad time.”

Police this morning said that emergency services, including police and NIAS responded to the scene but, sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

They are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or may have dash cam footage, to get in touch with them on 101, and quote reference number 1351 of 27/02/21.

Limavady Councillor Brenda Chivers has expressed her deepest sympathy to the family. “Sadly another family has been given the devastating news that their loved one’s life has been taken following a fatal road traffic collision.

“I would like to extend my sympathy to his family and friends.

“I also understand the PSNI are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward and I want to echo this appeal.”
