Julie Spies sent her daughter Aimee Jess a Christmas card, which was selected as one of the winning entries.
Now the pair are planning a dream Christmas thanks to their festive windfall.
“I send cards anyway, so I thought I may as well give it a go,” said Julie, who is currently off work to have chemotherapy.

“I’m over the moon — it’s wonderful. I’ve got six children, so I’m going to split the money between them.”
Artworker Aimee added: “We send cards every year — it’s a lovely tradition, and it’s even better this year. I’m going to treat my seven-year-old daughter to some games and Lego, and get extra gifts for the whole family.”
The Magical Card Prize Draw runs from 1 to 24 December, with Royal Mail giving away over £500 prizes to more than 1,000 winners.
Each prize is shared between the sender and the recipient of the winning card, including daily £10,000 prizes and a bumper £100,000 giveaway on Christmas Eve.
