Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert (MSE) has issued a countdown warning for parents. On social media, the money gurus reminded people that they need to be ready by next week.

An MSE post on X, formerly Twitter, reminds parents and carers of a Wednesday deadline. The alert reads: “It’s your last chance to get a FREE letter from Father Christmas! Santa’s elves at the Royal Mail can help you out, but he’ll need to have received your letter by Wednesday 10 December.”

If you are looking to send letters, make sure you write the correct address.

Please send it to

If you want to send your list, or a lovely message to Santa, you can send it to:

  • Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ
  • Or in Welsh: Sion Corn, Ogof Sion Corn, Gwlad Y Ceirw, XM4 5HQ

Braille and BSL replies can be arranged by emailing santamail@royalmail.com

On their website, MoneySavingExpert states that this deadline is the Royal Mail’s and ensures it reaches the main person on time. However, the earlier you send it, the better.

Whilst it’s said to be ‘free’, MSE remind parents: “Technically, it isn’t 100% free as you’ll need to post your letter to Santa with a stamp (£1.70 first-class, 87p second). Remember to include a full name and address, so Santa knows where to send his reply.”

It further warned that you may not be guaranteed a reply, even if you’ve sent your letter nice and early. It suggested an alternative if this happens, saying: “If this is the case, or you can’t wait for Santa’s reply, you can download a letter for free, too.”
