The management of a sorting office has come under fire after reports some radiators are still on “full blast” despite the hot weather.
The Medway Valley Delivery office in Sortmill Road, Snodland, is currently unable to turn some radiators off, much to the despair of its workers.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said they were aware of “ongoing” issues with some radiators at the office.
It added: “The site is currently being surveyed as part of planned heating system upgrades, and this work is ongoing.”
The issue is understood to be due to certain radiators being connected directly to the hot water supply.
This means turning them off would require shutting of the hot water entirely.
But one person, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “Temperature set to rise to 34C/85 F and so, of course, the Royal Mail have left the radiators on at Medway Valley full blast.
“Apparently they can’t turn them off because they’re not locally controlled.”
Royal Mail were not able to provide a timescale of when the issue would be resolved.
