Speaking on Entertainment Tonight, Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said: ‘I think it’s probably a little premature to be speaking about a second baby.

‘That said, sources close to the couple told me that they really would love to have a big family.’

‘They absolutely want siblings for Archie, so possibly we will have a pregnancy announcement for Meghan and Harry sometime next year.’

She conceded: ‘But for the moment, the focus is obviously on Archie.’

Betting site Coral make 2020 the 1/2 favourite year for Harry and Meghan to announce a second pregnancy, with 2021 currently at a 7/4 odds, and 2022 or later at 4/1.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead told Femail: ‘Harry and Meghan have made no secret of their desire to add to their family, and that means that we make next year the odds on favourite for the year that their next baby arrives’.

On Saturday baby Archie was christened in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, in a small 25-person ceremony.

Prince Harry is said to be keen to keep the little boy out of the spotlight as he grows up, after feeling as though he spent his entire life growing up ‘in a goldfish bowl’ – even having to grieve for his late mother Diana in the spotlight.

This week an insider told The Express :’With the exception of his time in the forces Harry has lived his entire life in the goldfish bowl of public scrutiny.

‘And, although he recognises his duty, he is fiercely determined to protect his newborn from the glare of public opinion which he has had to bear – which became especially oppressive when he lost his mother Diana.

‘Harry is fiercely protective of Archie and has promised him he will never have to go through that. Of course Meghan, who has lived a large part of her life in front of cameras, agrees wholeheartedly. He’ll basically protect Archie with his life.’
