Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have left Prince William and Kate Middleton “really annoyed” after discussing their plans for their future children, according to a royal expert.
Royal commentators began to question whether there was “tension” between the royal couples after Prince Harry revealed how many children he was planning to have with Meghan.
Meghan Markle and Harry ‘really annoyed’ William and Kate
Royal expert Robert Jobson told the Daily Mail that “Meghan’s stint as guest editor on British Vogue’s September issue” may have insulted the Duchess of Cambridge.
Soon after, royal commentator and chief correspondent for E! News, Melanie Bromley, noted that there may be “tension” between the two royal families after it was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge delayed their trip to Balmoral until after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned home.
“Every year the Queen invites members of the Royal Family to stay at her Scottish estate, this year it’s no different. But this year there is one expert claiming William and Kate may have delayed their Balmoral trip because they don’t want to have a run-in with Harry and Meghan,” Ms Bromley said.
“According to royal reporter Robert Jobson, recent comments made by Harry and Meghan may have rubbed William and Kate the wrong way.”
Writing in the Daily Mail last week, royal expert Robert Jobson said that Prince Harry’s statement during an interview with Jane Goodall for Meghan’s guest edit of British Vogue – in which he confessed that he was planning to have only two children ‘maximum’ in a bid to save the planet – may well have annoyed the Cambridges’, who already have three.
“The same commentator also notes that Meghan may have upset Kate by saying she didn’t want to appear ‘boastful’ by putting a picture of herself on the cover of British Vogue,” added Bromley.
Enninful, who has been the editor of British Vogue since 2017, said that Meghan felt it would be “boastful” to appear on the cover alongside women admired.
Both Princess Diana and Kate Middleton featured on the cover of British Vogue, which begs the question of whether Meghan found their decision to be “boastful.”
“If you recall, Kate Middleton did appear as a cover star for British Vogue in 2016, and by the way, she looked bloody amazing doing it?” said Ms Bromley.
“So is there really more tension between William and Kate and Harry and Meghan? Or is this the case of normal stress that comes from trying to schedule a family vacation?”
